Ebb Tide Art Gallery Earns "Best Art Gallery" Award
Ebb Tide Art Gallery has been voted Best Art Gallery 2026 by readers of South Sound magazine.
"For more than 40 years, the Ebb Tide Gallery has been hosting local artists from the greater Gig Harbor area. Here, visitors will find high quality art of all kinds: paintings, photographic art, wood sculptures, ceramics, glass, and more. The gallery follows a co-op model with the artists whose art is featured in the gallery also running operations. Stepping into the space, visitors will be welcomed and helped by the artists themselves. "

Karinna Olsen - Acrylic Painting
Hi, Im Karinna Olsen.
I love to paint peaceful, soothing nature scenery. Sometimes its more realistic, and sometimes its more abstract. Some days, I love to just let my heart energy flow through my hand when I paint, to see what I come up with.
I'm especially fascinated with abstract visions like dreams, gravitations, how the elements affect us, and heart emotions. I enjoy painting old historical things, and I especially love anything with a neat watery reflection that melts and flows into some strange new dimension. It really puts me in a happy place, and feels so soothing. Its like dreaming while awake, and experiencing life to the fullest.
Creating art is how I find peace and fulfillment in my life, and I love to share what I create with others.

Pat Askren - Watercolors
Pat has been drawing since she was a small child. Her grandfather, a Norwegian fisherman, lived in Gig Harbor and often would ask her what she'd like him to draw.
He would then sketch small birds, animals, and fish on small bits of paper with a tiny stub of a pencil. It was only recently that she realized that those small elements still fill her drawings.
"My default imagery is drawing fish!"
Her work is inspired by situations – what stands out to her as beautiful, odd, unusual, or otherwise causes an emotional reaction - and often appears narrative and evokes fanciful memories of times gone by.
"I primarily work on Arches watercolor paper, using black line or acrylic ink in watercolor techniques. I have also used Caran d’Ache water soluble crayons and would like to do more painting with acrylics."

AUGUST's Guest Artist
Sharon Stritzel - Acrylic Painting
Sharon Stritzel is a self-taught acrylic artist who lives and paints in Manchester, WA. Her artistic journey began in the fifth grade, sparking a lifelong obsession with creating. Her retirement from a 35-year career in education allowed her to fully devote time to her artistic practice.
During the pandemic, she successfully completed a series of online fine art programs that refined her technical skills and art knowledge. Sharon works primarily in acrylics, but frequently dabbles in oil painting, watercolor and collage.
She is an active member of both the Peninsula Art League and the South Kitsap Artists Association, where she regularly connects with fellow creators and shares her evolving body of work.
Come meet Sharon at a reception at the gallery on Sunday, August 2nd, from 2pm to 4pm.
