Summer's Getting Closer! Come say hi and marvel at the work of Gig Harbor artists!

Ebb Tide Art Gallery has been voted Best Art Gallery 2026 by readers of South Sound magazine.
"For more than 40 years, the Ebb Tide Gallery has been hosting local artists from the greater Gig Harbor area. Here, visitors will find high quality art of all kinds: paintings, photographic art, wood sculptures, ceramics, glass, and more. The gallery follows a co-op model with the artists whose art is featured in the gallery also running operations. Stepping into the space, visitors will be welcomed and helped by the artists themselves. "
Come see what all the buzz is about!

Much of my work is rooted in the idea of re-seeing—slowing down long enough to notice the subtle structures, textures, lines and rhythms that quietly shape our visual world. Through photography, I hope to reveal the artistry embedded in "ordinary" environments and natural forms, inviting you to pause, observe, and discover beauty where it is often overlooked.
Whether photographing architecture, landscapes, or the unusual abstractions of nature, I look for pattern, geometry, and the interplay of light and shadow. These elements allow me to transform familiar scenes into compositions that feel both refined and contemplative. My goal is not simply to document what exists, but to interpret it in a compelling way - to translate visual complexity into images that resonate emotionally and aesthetically.
Art does not require exotic subjects or distant destinations. Beauty is present in bark textures, weathered surfaces, shifting light, and quiet moments that present line and shape. By reframing the everyday, I hope to foster a deeper appreciation for the visual richness that surrounds us and to encourage a more adventurous way of seeing.

Ebb Tide Gallery is excited to welcome acrylic painter and Peninsula Art League member Hector Arellano to the gallery as our May Guest Artist. His serene, layered pieces will make you pause and want to stay awhile.
"I am an artist. I feel it in my soul. But it has taken a lifetime to say it and mean it, and to live it. Doubts started at a young age, when a teacher told me I had no talent.
Yet, you cannot deny what your heart tells you, and I’ve always found a way to create. "

Born in Chicago and raised in Southern California, Michael has lived in Washington for over 35 years. He is a photographer and digital artist "drawn to wherever wind and fate may lead." He's also drawn to color and texture, which are equally powerful forces in his work. Together, they evoke a sense of time, place, and emotion.
Beyond the act of capturing an image, he finds his truest sense of flow in the process of transformation. Manipulating images through layers of texture, tonal variation, filters, and shifts in saturation and vibrance is where his work fully comes alive.
Now based in Washington State, he creates images that exist at the intersection of photography and digital art.

In 2026, The Ebb Tide Gallery is partnering with the Peninsula Art League (PAL) to periodically showcase their artists in our gallery.
