Welcome to Ebbtide Gallery! Showcasing incredible talent and celebrating local South Sound artists!
Ebb Tide continues with our Featured Artist Program, spotlighting incredible local talent. March will feature Gig Harbor artist Elaine Erickson, whose beautiful artwork will be highlighted in the gallery throughout the month.
Elaine is a multi-media artist seeking to tell a story in each completed work. Through the use of line, shape and color, the viewer is invited to imagine a narrative and relate it to their own scenarios.
From years of painting experience, Elaine most enjoys using acrylic paint on stretched canvas and is fascinated with occasional embellishments of objects such as feathers, glass frit, or sparkly rhinestones. Her technique is mostly self-taught through experimentation with available products and ways to deliver them to a static surface.
Elaine’s life mantra was gifted to her by her 7th grade art teacher at Hunt Jr. High in Tacoma, (thank you!) Jim Boetcher when he told her she could “do anything.” This belief has never wavered and remains the backbone of her creativeness. Living in the northwest her whole life has instilled the love and beauty of nature in it subtleness. One learns to keep digging through layers to discover what is below the surface. Her ultimate goal is to impart to each person the acceptance of self, others, and nature.
Elaine’s vibrant, often whimsical work will be on display on the large wall throughout March and is sure to bring a smile to your face.
Ebb Tide continues to add new, amazing artists to its roster. Meet Darby Alice Twight.
Darby is a self-taught landscape artist based in the Olympic Peninsula known for their dramatic depictions of nature. She aims to give the viewer the same feeling she has while experiencing the natural world.
Born and raised in northern California, Darby has been creating her art since she was a young child, inspired by the art of her great grandmother Alice Goen Jones.
Darby’s artwork is vibrant, expressive and serene. Their art is created to ground you with natural beauty in your home or office.
